DIY Softbox 1

DIY Softbox 1
This is my submission for the contest on diyphotography.net
This is one of my DIY light modifiers. I own three Vivitar 285 flash units, and most modifiers do not fit because of the built in filter mount on the end of the flash. This softbox is built from silver duct tape, gaffer tape, plastic shelf liner, mat board for rigid walls, and velcro strips. The light it emits is not true white, the plastic gives it approximately the same effect as 1/8 CTO, offering a warmth to the light.
Strobist 2-Vivitar 285 thru umbrellas camera left and right, triggered with Cactus V4.

i painted 12 small plastic cutting boards and punched holes in them and then connected them all with S hooks. I cut out design elements from wood grained adhesive shelf liner for each piece.

i am not thrilled with the results.
